Though people say "the world is a classroom", I'm not sure this is what they had in mind... #outdooreducation #cheungchauisland
Sunny morning on the Italian Beach, Cheung Chau, Hong Kong . #beachlife #cheungchau
Finally! A photogenic loaf 😊 And it's only taken six weeks of practice... Despite some expert tuition at #sfbi a few years ago, my homemade bread never worked out until I finally sat down and tried to work out where I was going wrong. Since then I've baked and played with just one recipe, making it every few days. And now it's pretty consistently edible. 😄 Huzzah for low standards! Time for a new recipe, methinks... #bread #boule
Looking through old pics from Bhutan, and what I've been enjoying most is reminders of these sunny messages that I found in odd places - etched on a bone in a Bumthang farm homestay, painted on a signpost in Haa, etc. Feeling inspired to do the same where I live - feel-good guerilla graffiti! #bhutan #mybhutan #littleyak
This is Hong Kong! Near Pui O on Lantau. . Lantauians (?) have mixed feelings about the island's feral cattle and buffaloes - are they a nuisance that needs to be controlled, or a charming part of island life that needs to be protected? . Both, probably. But this guy don't care... . #buffalo #hongkong #lantau #chewingthecud
Locavore fail #486: Bought this lush pak choi from a farmer on the island. Excited enough to take a photo. Washed it in two changes of water and cooked it for dinner. . First bite: CRUNCH. Second bite: CRUNCH. @cheung_chau_sausage manfully ate two before giving up - absolutely FULL of grit/sand/other unmentionable crunchy stuff. :-/ . Lesson: Sometimes twice just ain't enough. . #locavore #localproduce #pakchoi #little_yak
